Top 5 best places to telework (or not) in La Clusaz

After two years of dearth in terms of non-working days, 2023 announces the return of the month of May, the real one: the month of public holidays. Monday May 1st, Monday May 8th, Ascension Thursday, Whit Monday …
The working weeks are short and the long weekends are numerous.
What’s the point of being confined to the city when you can easily telework in the mountains in a setting that is conducive to creativity?

You will find here our little tips to telework seriously and enjoy it fully.

To put in your suitcase: computer and charger, sneakers, swimsuit, glasses, sportswear and a cap.

Top 5 places where it’s good to work a little, and have a good time!

1 – Le pêle coworking : the most serious spot

Named Le Pêle, after the patois expression meaning “small room heated by a stove”, this coworking space was created a few years ago. A perfect solution for teleworkers.

Open to visitors and residents alike, it offers 15 individual workstations in open space, a secure internet connection and fiber, a printer-scanner, a meeting room, video booths for isolation, not to mention unlimited coffee and tea!

At Le Pêle, there is no time to procrastinate, the mountain inspires all year round.

And for those who wish, the coworking space of La Clusaz and the Youth Hostel of La Clusaz propose a joint offer from January to September:

1 night with breakfast and 1/2 day of coworking.

In April, May, June and September, it’s 40 € without dinner but with access to the shared kitchen.

2 – Le balcon des Aravis : THE SPOT WITH THE BEST VIEW

At the top of the Crêt du Loup chairlift, the 200 m2 terrace and tables are waiting for your arrival. For the lunch break, self-service planchas are installed and phone charging points are available …. the perfect spot to recharge your batteries.

Between two projects, don’t forget to contemplate the Aravis chain and the village from the dedicated footbridge.

3 – Chalet des confins : the spot with the most charm

Imagine installing your computer in the heart of the Confins plateau: around you, a typical mountain chapel, a golf course, the Aravis mountain range.

All this bathed by the spring sun….isn’t this the most chill telecommuting spot in the world?

Welcome to Les Confins, here no need for a green background, the golf course will do the trick!

wifi

4 – Beauregard : THE MOST GREEDY SPOT

Admit that going to your place of (tele)work by taking the Beauregard gondola is quite exhilarating!

Direction the ideal spot for teleworking: a plateau at 1647 meters of altitude with a 360° view, the Mont-Blanc in the background.

For the 4pm break, you will only have to walk a few steps to taste local cheeses in one of the farms of the plateau!

5 – PRETEND TO WORK: THE SPOT OF THE LITTLE RASCAL

We are sure that all our suggestions will make you dream and that once you are there you will want to get away from it all… so here are our tips for pretending to work and enjoying the mountain.

  • Don’t forget to send at least one email per day to your manager, and to intervene from time to time on slack.
  • During a video chat, don’t hesitate to mention that at home, you don’t see time passing and often forget the lunch break.
  • Use the “network problem” sparingly.
  • Block “meeting” slots on your agenda. No one will bother you during this time.
  • Parents beware: the child’s excuse works pretty well.
  • Beware of stories posted during regular business hours.
