WHAT TO PACK?

We know packing isn’t the most exciting part of your vacation, so a little help is always welcome. Here are our tips and tricks to make sure you don’t forget anything and earn the title of unsung hero you truly deserve. Get ready to head off with suitcases full of smart advice!

  • Trail Maps Are Your Best Friend. Keep the village and ski maps handy to locate all the restrooms and avoid being caught off guard by an urgent “pit stop.” Check out our interactive map and download our web app here
  • Stay Sun-Savvy No matter the weather, sunscreen is a must in the mountains. Don’t leave home without it!
  • Snack Smart A pocket snack for the slopes is great, but don’t skip the real treat after skiing or activities. In La Clusaz, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a bite while marveling at the Ski Show by instructors or one of the many performances.

  • Uh-oh, it’s running! Whether it’s the kids’ runny noses or the proud tears of parents… tissues will be your best friend during the holidays.
  • Prevent the “Monchus” Look. To avoid looking like a snowman from the get-go, make sure to put the ski boots on the right way—i.e., buckles facing outward. But hey, that’s just a tip, everyone has their style 😉
  • I’m Tiiiired, I’m Cooooold, I’m Sopping Wet!
Sound familiar? Make sure to bring spare mittens and snow boots to wear before and after skiing. If there’s still room, a spare ski suit? Definitely a yes.
  • No More Back Pain from Carrying Skis & Wet Boots
Forget the struggle of hauling wet skis and boots you left outside. Reserve ski lockers at the foot of the slopes, complete with boot dryers.
  • And Lastly, A Quick Tip. Your ski helmet isn’t a substitute for a hat—it lets the cold air in. Always keep a beanie in your pocket or bag to keep both the little ones and adults happy!

WHERE TO HAVE YOUR KIDS WATCHED?

Dreaming of a sporty hike or a romantic spa day? Don’t worry! Whether it’s summer or winter, there are plenty of options to keep your little ones entertained while you take a well-deserved break.

For the youngest ones, the municipal nursery Les P’tits Montagnards is the perfect spot. But be sure to plan ahead and book in advance, and don’t forget their health record book.

The Village d’Enfants welcomes children aged 3 to 11 (depending on the season). But a word of caution—before booking your relaxing day, make sure to reserve for your kids as well, as spots are limited.

In winter, a special mention goes to ski lessons for children with the La Clusaz Ski Schools. It’s the perfect opportunity for them to learn from professionals, earn a medal, and make new friends!
